Antonelli confirmed the team tactics at Mercedes.

Kimi Antonelli retired from the last stage in Barcelona due to overheating, which led to a battery failure. In Spielberg, the Mercedes driver stated that he will receive a new power unit for the Austrian stage.

Kimi Antonelli: "The issues with the power unit actually manifested some time ago. I already had difficulties in the first practice in Miami, and then George's retirement followed in Montreal. Because of this, we lost quite a few points.

In Barcelona, there was a sudden sharp temperature spike in one of the components of the power unit, which caused the battery to fail. Meanwhile, in Canada, the conditions were completely different, significantly cooler.

This season, we have mainly faced difficulties on tracks with old asphalt and low grip levels. From this perspective, Spielberg should be more favorable for us than Barcelona, although we expect very high temperatures.

The track is very demanding on the car – from brakes to engine, especially considering that the oxygen level decreases due to the altitude. In this sense, the new power unit in my car is definitely good news."

In Barcelona, Kimi Antonelli and George Russell fiercely battled each other on the track for position. In Austria, Kimi mentioned that after the race, Mercedes team principal Toto Wolff held a "debrief" and outlined the conditions under which team tactics would be applied in the future.

"There was a meeting on this issue, and Toto clearly stated his position," says Kimi. "If we find ourselves in a situation like in Barcelona again, under pressure from competitors, team tactics will be applied, especially if one of the cars shows a higher pace.

However, if we are only battling among ourselves, without pressure from another team, we will be allowed to race, as it was in Montreal."
