Perez brushes aside worries about the heat at the Austrian GP.

"I'm Mexican, so this heat isn't too intense for me."

Sergio Perez has dismissed Formula 1's worries regarding the hot conditions at the Austrian Grand Prix. With temperatures predicted to reach the mid-30s at the Red Bull Ring for the rest of the weekend, the FIA has announced a heat hazard, mandating that all cars be equipped with components for the new cooling vest system, regardless of whether drivers opt to wear it. "I don’t want to use it; I’m Mexican, so for me, this isn’t very hot,” Perez said with a smile. "Honestly, it amuses me that Europeans are concerned about this level of heat, but for me, it's quite normal." Championship leader Kimi Antonelli also appeared unperturbed. "I’m Italian, so I’m accustomed to this weather," he chuckled. Mercedes has introduced an updated battery package in Austria following the failure that forced Antonelli to retire in Barcelona, but the 19-year-old asserted that the anticipated heat is not an issue. "No, although it will definitely be a very challenging race for the cars," he explained. "In Spain, the temperature of a battery pack component spiked, which caused the system to fail. However, these are not problems related to heat."
