The debut Grand Prix of Spain at MadRing is just over a month away, and work on the new racetrack is entering its final stage. Last week, ticket sales began for the named grandstand of Carlos Sainz, located in the area of the 3rd turn, and its construction will start soon, but the first seven grandstands have already been erected in the past 14 days.

As reported by the Madrid newspaper Marca, the installation of barriers is nearing completion, and the necessary markings are being applied; in particular, at the 15th turn before the second tunnel, the curbs have already been painted in bright yellow-red hues, i.e., in the colors of the Spanish flag. This section of the circuit, according to Carlos, is one of the fastest and most challenging and reminds him of Silverstone in character.

In the area of the 13th turn, three covered grandstands are already visible, and a total of 16 grandstands will be built, which, along with the free placement zones, will be able to accommodate more than 120,000 spectators. Since the contract with MadRing for hosting the Grand Prix of Spain is for a minimum of ten years, the organizers promise that the capacity of the grandstands will be increased in the future as the capacity of urban transport and the efficiency of local infrastructure improve overall.

At the same time, work continues in the part of the racetrack where the fan zone and concert venue are located – over 100,000 square meters are allocated for the area where such activities will be concentrated, including simulators and the sale of souvenir products. Everything here should be ready to welcome the public in about a month.

In any case, work is progressing ahead of schedule, and it has even been necessary to temporarily abandon night shifts, as there is no longer a need for such an organization of the process.
