Loudon: This weekend, the team showed perseverance.
Sergio Perez finished 15th in the British Grand Prix, while Valtteri Bottas, his teammate at Cadillac F1, finished 17th. The American team considers such results a "positive step forward," which also confirmed the effectiveness of the technical innovations presented at the stage in Austria and supplemented in Silverstone.
However, the British stage did not unfold linearly for the Cadillac drivers, including some unpleasant moments, such as when Perez received a penalty for colliding with Fernando Alonso during the Saturday sprint. Today's race was also rich in various events, so it is quite appropriate to add a very original poster prepared by the team for the British Grand Prix to the final press release – it seems to convey the character of the past weekend well.
Sergio Perez (15th, 14th after Carlos Sainz's penalty): "Overall, the race went quite well; this is probably our best performance of the season. We had a very good start, after which we battled with one of the Haas drivers, trying to fend off his attacks.
We still have work to do, we need to keep pushing, and let's hope we can improve even more when we receive the next set of technical innovations. If we can increase our speed even a little, we will be able to compete with the midfield teams."
Valtteri Bottas (17th, 16th after Carlos Sainz's penalty): "The most important thing is that after three unsuccessful weekends, when we couldn't finish at all, today we completed the race, and that's a positive point.
Moreover, we completed the entire race distance for the first time with two upgraded cars, which allowed us to gather a large amount of information that we will use in the process of further optimizing the chassis.
I think we are making progress overall. At times, especially when I was on hard tires, it felt like we were getting a bit closer to the midfield teams, but we were noticeably ahead of Aston Martin throughout the race."
Graham Loudon, team principal: "This weekend, the team showed perseverance, which is especially important at the end of a very challenging series of two consecutive races. Moreover, we conducted today's race quite confidently.
Both cars had a good start, and our pace allowed us to stay ahead of Aston Martin and Haas. I would like to thank everyone in the team for their constant hard work."
