Verstappen: The rear wing didn't close completely.

For Max Verstappen, the race in Silverstone ended with a crash into the gravel at the fifteenth corner. The Red Bull Racing driver reported that the cause was a technical failure, which prevented the rear wing from closing completely, resulting in a loss of stability in the corner.

Isaac Hajar brought the team ten points by finishing fifth and also complained about a lack of speed and grip on the track.

Isaac Hajar (5th): "I only had something going on the stint on Medium tires, and for 80% of the race distance, I didn't have the pace. Throughout the weekend, I was happy with the car, and that feeling only returned in the race after the final pit stop. I don't know what it's related to, but Max was fighting for the podium, even though he wasn't very happy with the car. If Max is unhappy but fighting at the front, then that can be considered good news."

Max Verstappen (retirement): "The same thing happened as in Austria – the rear wing didn't close completely. I saw the analysis of what happened. It seems that the wing is closed, but in reality, it isn't fully closed, which leads to a significant loss of downforce, and the car just flies off the track. When this happens the first time, it can be understood, as mistakes happen. But when it happens a second time, it becomes dangerous, as you can get injured in such fast corners. The reason why the wing didn't close this time is different, but the outcome is the same.

I was lucky in the race. Lewis Hamilton received a five-second penalty, the virtual safety car was also in my favor. George Russell had a slow puncture, Kimi had issues with his car, and that's how I ended up in the top three. Even if I had finished on the podium, it wouldn't have been deserved in terms of speed.

We had problems on hard tires; the car lacked speed, we were just too slow. The situation was a bit better on Mediums, but throughout the weekend, the car didn't have balance, and in the race, I couldn't attack at all. In such a difficult weekend, you hope to at least finish, but we don't always manage that either. So, another painful weekend."
