The winner of the Formula 3 race de Palo has been disqualified.
Matteo de Palo, who won the Formula 3 race on Sunday in Silverstone, has been disqualified. A technical inspection conducted after the finish revealed that the Trident driver's car did not comply with the technical regulations. It turned out that the diffuser on de Palo's car was 3 millimeters lower than the minimum allowable value on the left side and 1 millimeter lower on the right side. The victory was supposed to go to Ernesto Rivera, who finished second, but the Campos Racing driver received a five-second penalty for zigzagging after the bridge between turns 14 and 15, which is prohibited by the race director's instructions and was specifically mentioned in the drivers' briefing. James Wharton and Alessandro Giusti also received five-second penalties for similar violations. Thus, the victory in the Formula 3 race on Sunday in Silverstone went to Maciej Gladysz. For the Polish ART driver, this is his first podium in his career, and immediately after the finish, he habitually went straight to the Formula 3 paddock instead of the "closed park." As a result, Maciej was late for the start of the awards ceremony and climbed onto the podium only after the anthem had played and the awards presentation had begun.
