If you're eager to immerse yourself in Japanese car culture, you don't have to spend a fortune on an ultra-rare Nissan Skyline GT-R. The JDM scene offers a wide variety, and many of the most interesting models can now be imported under the 25-year rule. It's hard to find something more quintessentially Japanese than this 2000 Mitsubishi Pajero Mini Snoopy Edition currently listed on Bring a Trailer, and it likely won't empty your wallet, as someone has already taken care of the import process to the U.S.

Snoopy is a significant figure in Japan, competing with homegrown animated characters for popularity. He is so beloved that Japanese car owners often showcase their fondness through their vehicle choices. The Snoopy Edition features unique graphics, including numerous images of Snoopy himself, adorable paw print mud flaps, and what appears to be the signature of Peanuts creator Charles M. Schulz, all over a Soft White and Silver Metallic two-tone finish. Snoopy is also depicted on the center caps of the 15-inch wheels, paired with 175/80 Yokohama Geolandar tires.

Inside, Snoopy is present on the seat covers, in a collage on the door panels, and even on the speedometer. Woodstock accompanies him on the tachometer. Other than these details, the interior is fairly basic, which is typical for a kei car.

The Pajero Mini brought the styling of the Dakar-winning SUV known in the U.S. as the Montero down to kei-car dimensions. This model is the second generation, introduced in 1998 when some kei-car size restrictions were relaxed, and remained in production until 2012. Notably, this generation of Pajero Mini was also marketed as the Nissan Kix (not to be confused with the Kicks), hinting at the future collaboration between the two manufacturers.

Beneath the small hood lies a compact engine. The 659-cc turbocharged inline-three generates just 51 horsepower, keeping in mind that both displacement and power output are constrained by kei-car regulations. This engine is paired with a four-speed automatic transmission, as well as a four-wheel drive system with a two-speed transfer case that aligns with the Pajero name. The front suspension is independent, while the rear features a live axle.

The seller acquired this car in Japan in 2025, where it underwent some maintenance prior to its import. Its odometer reads approximately 35,000 miles, but there are signs of wear consistent with the car's age, including a significantly faded Snoopy decal on the hood. The seller states they possess a clean Tennessee title in their name, though the regulations for registering kei cars for road use may vary by state.
