Belgian GP set to achieve another sell-out.

"It’s meaningless to compare us to Silverstone."

Formula 1’s upcoming event at Spa-Francorchamps is set for another sell-out, with only a few tickets still available for next week’s Belgian GP. Local promoter Vanessa Maes reports that only 4,000 to 5,000 tickets are left, and daily attendance is anticipated to reach the circuit’s full capacity of 115,000 spectators. "In agreement with the authorities, we can accommodate 115,000 spectators," she stated. "We are gradually increasing the maximum number to ensure greater comfort for the audience." These updates come shortly after Silverstone recorded a remarkable Friday attendance of over 150,000 fans. In total, the British GP weekend drew in more than 564,000 attendees over four days, making it the largest Formula 1 event ever. However, Maes noted that direct comparisons between the two venues are inaccurate. "It’s meaningless to compare us to Silverstone, a World War II airfield," she remarked. "It’s a flat, open site spanning thousands of hectares. At Francorchamps, the track runs from one hill to another. Many of the surrounding areas are wooded, which contributes to the charm of our national circuit." The Belgian GP is set to remain on the Formula 1 calendar under a rotation agreement that includes Spa hosting races in 2027, 2029, and 2031, alternating with Barcelona in 2028, 2030, and 2032.
