Zhou does not rule out thoughts of returning to Formula 1.

      Guanyu Zhou raced his last Formula 1 race in 2024, and this season he regularly appears in the paddock as a reserve driver for Cadillac. At the same time, the Chinese driver does not give up thoughts of returning to Formula 1 on a permanent basis and is looking for options.

      Guanyu Zhou: "First of all, I wouldn't want to constantly think only about what my chances are of returning, or in what situation the team might need my help. For example, if one of the drivers is unable to race due to health reasons or for another reason. I'm ready for that.

      After the tests, I feel more prepared. I was able to figure out how this car works, study the buttons on the steering wheel, and all the necessary procedures. Now I am familiar with everything almost as much as the two main drivers of the team.

      As for the long-term perspective, I am still looking for an opportunity to return to Formula 1. It is obvious that with the new regulations, this is quite a challenging task.

      Now the peloton has become more divided in terms of speed, which means there are more opportunities for mistakes on the part of the drivers. Previously, in such tight competition, you could be knocked out of the first part due to a deficit of just one second.

      Now the situation is a bit different: teams are further apart because everyone has new engineers and new cars. Therefore, there are definitely opportunities. I hope that I will get my chance sooner rather than later.

      My dream remains unchanged – to compete in Formula 1. I hope that one day I will be able to return and get another chance to show what I'm capable of."
