Audi will not update the powertrain until 2027.

      The Audi team does not plan to update its power unit until 2027. Audi's racing director, Alan McNish, explained that if improvements are introduced in 2026, the team will exceed the budget cap limits.

      "The next update of our power unit will be next year," Alan McNish said in Hungary. "The reason for this decision is simple – we must stay within the budget constraints.

      Everyone has to find a balance between the timing of updates, both for the chassis and the power unit, and what to spend money on. You can't spend the entire budget at once, otherwise there will simply be no opportunities for further development. Therefore, resources need to be allocated wisely, not only within a single season but also with a view to several years ahead.

      As for us, within the ADUO program, we brought small updates to Barcelona. They worked and helped us make a step forward. But more serious updates are planned for 2027. Until then, there will be no major changes to the power unit.

      In the second half of this season, we will continue to develop the car, but if we talk specifically about the power unit, the main changes are already planned for 2027. This primarily concerns significant changes in design, and such things cannot be implemented quickly."
