Dodge Takes Inspiration from Porsche and Offers Custom Paint Colors to the General Public

      In 2027, Dodge will offer buyers more options to personalize their vehicles with new appearance selections and an updated version of the “Jailbreak” customization initiative, which initially debuted with the old Dodge Charger and Challenger. Soon, buyers of the Dodge Charger will have access to a much larger array of paint colors, moving away from limitations based on model and trim.

      Currently, the brand has dubbed it “Color Jailbreak,” and it essentially means exactly what the name implies.

      “The new Color Jailbreak initiative opens up creative possibilities for everyone by expanding a custom color program that was previously available for Dodge ‘halo’ vehicles, like the Dodge Challenger SRT Demon 170 and the Durango SRT Hellcat Jailbreak,” stated Dodge’s announcement. “The Color Jailbreak program unlocks a spectrum of colors, allowing more Dodge fans to express themselves beyond the standard Dodge palette, with an initial U.S. MSRP aimed at a broad audience rather than just a select few.”

      We are still awaiting details on the exact MSRP. Dodge showcased several vehicles at Roadkill Nights to give enthusiasts a glimpse of the upcoming customization options, but formal pricing and additional program details will be revealed later this year.

      “Dodge owners have always embraced uniqueness, and Roadkill Nights provides the ideal setting for us to unveil a brand new custom paint program directly from the factory,” said Dodge CEO Matt McAlear in the company announcement. “There’s nothing that solidifies the identity of a 1:1 car like a special paint scheme, and we aim to make that more accessible than ever. Whether you prefer a beloved body color or wish to experiment with unique calipers, stripes, spoiler colors, or even two-tone finishes, we have you covered.”

      In line with this, Dodge also revealed that a new tinted stripe package will be available for the 2027 models (both Charger and Durango). This package is just one of many customization features showcased by Dodge at Roadkill Nights.

      Alongside the stripes (demonstrated on the “Redeye” Durango R/T), Dodge presented an additional show model called the Durango “Smokescreen” concept, named after its base paint finish. This model has been further enhanced with “Cryo Blue” graphics, 20-inch forged wheels (also in Cryo), and “Petrol Blue” Laguna leather seats.
