Is Cadillac going to unveil a road hypercar?

In Formula 1, the Cadillac team began competing only this year, and it's still difficult to talk about any successes, but in the World Endurance Championship, the factory Cadillac Team Jota is clearly doing better: at the July WEC stage in Brazil, its crew won the qualification and then climbed onto the podium.

Cadillac drivers are performing even more successfully in the American IMSA series, where last weekend they won the stage at the Road America track in Wisconsin.

In WEC and IMSA, Cadillac teams compete in the hypercars V-Series.R, and it seems that the American company is planning to present a road version of this car to the automotive world.

How else to interpret the mysterious teaser that appeared on its social media pages?

In the blurred black-and-white image, the silhouette of the Cadillac V-Series.R can be guessed, and the text states: "Winning at Road America is just the beginning. We will bring something incredible to the automotive festival in Monterey – it will be an example of what happens when engineering solutions tested on racetracks become a luxury focused on the future. Remember this date – August 14."

No further information has been provided by Cadillac's press service yet. The festival in Monterey, California usually showcases various unusual cars – these can be historical vehicles, new sports car models, or concept cars.

For example, a year ago, Cadillac presented the impressive Elevated Velocity Concept electric crossover there, and this time it plans to surprise the audience with some new project, clearly more sporty. The most obvious hypotheses suggest that it will be some "civilian" version of the V-Series.R, adapted for public roads, which is planned to be released in a very limited series for the wealthiest clients.

In this case, Cadillac will follow the example of other well-known sports car manufacturers – Aston Martin has the Valkyrie LM, Ferrari has the hypercar 499P Modificata. McLaren is still preparing to return to the top league of endurance racing but has already announced that it plans to offer selected clients a more moderate version of the MCL-HY GTR as part of the Project: Endurance program.

It makes sense to add that the "race" V-Series.R cars are equipped with naturally aspirated V8 engines with a displacement of 5.5 liters and 7-speed sequential gearboxes. According to the WEC regulations, the power is limited to 670 hp.

In any case, the wait is not long: Cadillac promises to unveil its new product on August 14 – then the mystery that both the automotive press and fans of the American brand are already pondering will be revealed.
