2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee Roars with 600 HP from a Turbocharged Inline-Six

      Introducing the 2027 Dodge Charger Super Bee. With the support of SRT and an even more potent High Output Hurricane inline-six, this first genuine high-performance Charger variant is set to hit the roads soon, boasting 600 horsepower and 531 pound-feet of torque.

      “Compared to the SIXPACK H.O. Charger Scat Pack, the Super Bee powertrain offers greater peak power, a wider torque curve, improved boost response, stronger acceleration at high speeds, and enhanced sustained output during prolonged high-performance driving,” Dodge stated in its announcement. “As a result, the Charger accelerates harder out of corners, charges more aggressively towards the redline, and continues to deliver power well into the speedometer range.”

      What does this mean in practical terms? Dodge claims the new model can reach 60 mph nearly a full second faster than the 2023 Super Bee (which featured the 6.4-liter 392), achieving the mark in 3.6 seconds. This advantage decreases to just over half a second in the quarter mile, which it completes in 11.8 seconds. Credit the standard all-wheel drive in the 2027 Super Bee for that 0-60 advantage. Interestingly, the gap narrows during the quarter-mile despite the new car's increased power.

      These figures certainly give the new Super Bee a competitive edge over its predecessor, but they don’t quite match the extremes of the Hellcat. That’s acceptable, as Dodge keeps reminding us there’s still significant potential left in this platform, both from the I6 engine (this announcement did not address SRT’s new “eBoost” technology) and the anticipated return of the Hemi V8. While Dodge has not confirmed the timing for the latter, we expect news to come soon.

      As expressed by numerous Dodge and SRT executives, they are “just getting started.”

      While this may fundamentally be a muscle car, Dodge emphasizes that the Super Bee package offers more than just a power enhancement. The Super Bee features a lower and stiffer design compared to the standard High Output Sixpack, with further modifications to the front end aimed at enhancing steering response and minimizing understeer. Adaptive dampers ensure a comfortable ride while also providing top grip when needed. The drive mode system has been refreshed with two new settings: Track Mode and Drag Mode—perfectly tailored for their intended purposes. The tires are Goodyear Eagle F1 Supercar 3s in 305/35ZR20, and behind those wheels are “Hyper Lime” Brembo calipers (six-piston in the front, four-piston in the rear) gripping 16.1-inch rotors.

      The Super Bee will also come with a 1080p video and data recording system (similar to GM’s Performance Data Recorder), enabling drivers to share their driving achievements directly with the world. That could be... interesting.

      The interior also receives some enhancements. The Bee theme is represented through yellow accents (the exterior color is named “Sucker Punch,” while the interior yellow is called “Sour Lemon”) and Super Bee seat embroidery. There’s also a badge on the instrument cluster as an additional reminder, in case the bright yellow center stripe on the steering wheel wasn’t sufficient.

      The Launch Edition will come with the features you see here (or in black, if preferred). Dodge has not yet disclosed pricing or when ordering will begin, nor do we have specifics on how the standard Super Bee will be configured.
