Stellantis is gearing up for a significant launch of new and updated products, with a goal of introducing 60 new vehicles and 50 refreshes by 2030. As part of this strategy, Chrysler aims to evolve beyond its minivan reputation by introducing three new SUVs priced under $40,000. For the moment, Chrysler has just revamped the Pacifica once again, which could be just the beginning for the model.

On Saturday, at Roadkill Nights in Pontiac, Michigan, two modified Pacificas made their debut, both of which are lowered. Though both are referred to as concepts, are they really?

While the red van, created in collaboration with VANkulture and Chrysler, might be seen as a unique custom build, the black one drew our interest.

The Chrysler Pacifica Concept, rather blandly named, “demonstrates how a few factory enhancements can quickly modify the Pacifica into a custom-looking seven- or eight-passenger minivan.” Stellantis mentioned "factory" twice in one sentence, and the modifications involved are basic bolt-on upgrades.

This "concept" is based on a Diamond Black 2027 Chrysler Pacifica Limited AWD with the S Appearance Package, enhanced with Mopar stripes, black-painted brake calipers, a 1-inch lowering kit, 21-inch Geode Wheels fitted with 245/45R21 Pirelli PZero summer tires, and red seat belts from the America250 edition van.

The lowered minivan appears ready for production, right down to its uniquely named wheels. The Drive inquired if Chrysler is contemplating a factory-lowered Pacifica minivan for production and received a response: “we launched a variant recently... the Chrysler Pacifica A250 Special Edition!” Additionally, Chrysler CEO Matt McAlear stated, “Pacifica has always been about making life easier for families, and these two concepts show customers can personalize their minivan, make it stand out, and enjoy it. Concepts allow us to explore ideas that resonate with customers and highlight the flexibility of the Pacifica platform. We recently launched the Chrysler Pacifica America250 special edition, featuring unique design details like dark ruby seat belts, black leather seats with Ruby Red stitching, blue accents beneath the perforated leather seating surfaces, and other exclusive interior and exterior features. These concepts continue that spirit of personalization and creativity. Stay tuned.”

      That’s not a definitive “no.”

Chrysler has pointed out that there’s significant potential in the minivan segment, noting a 143% increase in Gen Z and Millennial buyers over the past decade, with retail sales projected to rise by 18% in the next five years. Although Chrysler did not provide sources for this information, the figures are striking.

Sam Abuelsamid, Vice President of Market Research at Telemetry, remarked to The Drive that “there is definitely potential for minivans to see a resurgence. We’ve experienced a trend favoring SUVs and crossovers for some time now. New generations often prefer to shift away from previous trends.”

Chrysler Pacifica Grizzly Peak concept Stellantis

Before the “RoboCop” design update was introduced in February, Chrysler unveiled the Grizzly concept in August 2025. The Grizzly provided the Pacifica with a 2.75-inch lift in the front and a 2.5-inch lift in the back, equipped with 31-inch BFGoodrich all-terrain tires. This enhancement didn't even consider the TYRI light bar and Baja Designs fog lights, or the ARB retractable awning.

Could the Grizzly potentially make it to production? At the 2025 Los Angeles auto show in November, McAlear told The Drive, “The feedback has been incredible, and it’s a fantastic package that we’re considering. We constantly evaluate possibilities across all segments to build viable business cases aligned with consumer interests. This represents a significant opportunity.”

“During the pandemic, there was a surge of interest in the van life concept, but people are starting to reevaluate minivans and recognizing their potential. A lifted model like the Grizzly that offers some off-road capability could attract buyers who may have previously overlooked minivans, now viewing them as a compelling option for a lifestyle vehicle that's distinct from what older siblings or prior generations preferred,” Abuelsamid stated.

Chrysler has now introduced two factory-supported concepts within a year—one lowered and one lifted—while also launching a variant featuring red seat belts. The automaker has recognized growth within the segment and highlighted that the sportier S Appearance Package is already equipped on one-third of Pacificas sold today.

      Stay tuned indeed.
