In Argentina, preparations are underway for MotoGP and they are awaiting Formula 1.

      The Argentine Grand Prix was held twenty times from 1953 to 1998 – and may return in 2028 or 2029 if negotiations go well. Plans for the return of the national Grand Prix in Argentina have been around for a long time. In 2017, FIA race director Charlie Whiting inspected the Oscar Alfredo Gálvez Autodrome in Buenos Aires, compiling a detailed report on what needed to be done to host the Grand Prix. With the worsening economic situation, the report was shelved, but then the project was revisited, and now the track is being brought up to modern FIM and FIA standards. The organization is being handled by former rally driver Orlando Terranova – director of the ODS group of companies, which will become the promoter of the events. The first target is the MotoGP stage in April 2027. Terranova believes that before starting negotiations for Formula 1, Argentina must demonstrate its ability to organize and host a MotoGP event at a high level. If everything goes well, then there is hope for the return of the Grand Prix in the 2028 or 2029 seasons. Orlando Terranova: "We have no other plans for 2027, except for the task set before us by Liberty Media – to successfully host the MotoGP race. I want Liberty to understand: Buenos Aires is the best option. We have two goals – the MotoGP stage and the Formula 1 Grand Prix. Our priority is the readiness of the track, and then everything else. This project, born in collaboration with Formula 1 and MotoGP, with FIA and FIM, has been in the works for 36 months, and we are satisfied with how everything is progressing. When I saw that the opportunities for the Grand Prix to return under the current situation in the East became real, I said: 'We must be ready.' We cannot have a project that is 95% complete. Let's fully prepare the track, as races in other regions may be canceled. Buenos Aires must be ready when the opportunity arises to host a race. We will prepare the track and do everything possible to successfully host the MotoGP stage, and then we will strive to get on the Formula 1 calendar in the 2028 or 2029 seasons. That is the goal."
