Orihara: Honda did not raise any claims against Aston Martin.

Despite a difficult start to the season and a large number of problems with the Honda power unit, Aston Martin did not hold any complaints against the Japanese manufacturer. Honda Racing's chief engineer and team leader Shintaro Orihara stated that Aston Martin always maintained a positive approach and worked together to solve the issues with the power unit.

Shintaro Orihara: "As you know, during the winter tests we faced serious problems. But on the track at the beginning of the season, we had a good relationship, largely thanks to Mike Krack.

Aston Martin never made any complaints against Honda. Of course, we are professionals, so we discussed what exactly the problem was and how to respond to it. But they always treated Honda with respect, so from the very beginning of the season, we had a good relationship.

The interaction at the base was also good from the start and then became even closer. When problems with vibration related to the battery arose, we began to work even more closely. Therefore, I believe that throughout the season our interaction and relationship improved more and more.

When we encountered these problems, daily meetings were held between Sakura in Japan, where Honda's base is located, and Aston Martin. Every day we discussed what needed to be done.

During the winter tests, we had battery issues, and those were the most serious. Without any countermeasures, we would not have been able to complete the first three races of the season. As a result, from the end of the winter tests until the first race, we discussed every day what to do.

In the end, we prepared a solution together for the first stage and were able to avoid a recurrence of the problem. This is the kind of work that was going on behind the scenes."
