The company Pirelli showcased the trophies for the Italian Grand Prix.

      Pirelli tire manufacturers are preparing for the Italian Grand Prix, which is particularly important for the company, as it is not only their home stage of the World Championship – they also serve as the title sponsor.

      Many pages of the legendary racetrack in Monza are associated with Pirelli, starting with the fact that the very first Italian Grand Prix, held there on September 10, 1922, was won by driver Pietro Bordino, and the tires on his Fiat 804 were produced by this company.

      Today, Pirelli revealed the prizes that the winner and podium finishers of the upcoming race will receive – they were created by Italian artists Stella Scala and Simeone Crispino. The press release, which also addresses this topic, states that their creative method combines irony with the ability to capture the contradictions and complexities of the reality around us. The trophies are made using 3D printing followed by painting, galvanization, and polishing.

      As the artists explained, “The idea is related to the ancient tradition where the cup was passed from hand to hand and served as a kind of bowl, creating a sense of a collective celebration. We wanted this sports trophy to symbolize a victory achieved by one person, but at the same time, such an achievement reflects the team spirit. In the context of Formula 1, this implies both the teams and the fans, and everything that surrounds the drivers.”

      For the Monza stage, the tire manufacturers have prepared rubber in three of the softest compounds: C3 acts as Hard, C4 as Medium, and C5 as Soft. In theory, all three compounds can be used in tactical schemes on race day, as the forecast for Sunday promises quite moderate temperatures.

      The 5.793 km long track with its 11 turns is one of the fastest on the Formula 1 calendar, but it is expected that the loads on the front tires in the braking zones will be somewhat lower this year, as speeds on entry into the turns are likely to decrease. However, the loads on the rear tires will increase during the acceleration phase when drivers use the maximum power of the power units.

      Stability during braking and good grip of the driving wheels on exit from the turns, especially in the first chicane and Ascari – are two key factors that determine the extent to which drivers will be able to gain an advantage over their competitors.

      Although teams set up their cars on this track for minimal downforce, prioritizing maximum speed on the straights, the surface usually provides decent grip from the very first day of practice.

      There is a risk that the rear tires may overheat during the race; however, degradation should not significantly affect the tire's performance. Therefore, the most likely strategy will be a one-stop tactic, despite the fact that overtaking is quite possible at Monza.
