Last year Haas F1 scored points at the Las Vegas Grand Prix — Nico Hülkenberg finished eighth. In 2025 the American team completed the car's upgrades later than their rivals, hoping it would give them an advantage in the final stage of the season, and it seems that tactic has paid off.
At least Oliver Bearman was 9th in Austin, 4th in Mexico City and 6th in São Paulo. Esteban Ocon hasn't been doing quite as well, but he also picked up a couple of points for ninth in Mexico City. He has good memories of Las Vegas — in 2023, when the race was held for the first time, Ocon, then racing for Alpine, finished fourth.
Esteban Ocon: "After we introduced the final upgrades in Austin, the car started to perform much more effectively, so the team can contend for solid results and score points. And, of course, I'm eager to see what we can achieve in the remaining races.
"I really enjoy the Las Vegas weekend, and I have good memories of this Grand Prix, as two years ago I finished fourth here. There is an opportunity to shine on this circuit. A lot can happen at the start, especially into the first corner.
"It's very difficult to get the tyres up to the right temperatures here, and if you manage that you can gain a noticeable advantage. Also, we don't know whether it will rain, and if it does at some point, that will become a very important factor.
"What I mean is there are many factors that can influence the result, but I'm keen to find out as soon as possible what our car is capable of on this track, and whether we'll be able to reach the level of performance we showed in previous races."
Con Las Vegas, Esteban Ocon tiene buenos recuerdos, pues en 2023, cuando corría para Alpine, terminó cuarto en el nuevo circuito estadounidense...
