Sanción a Piastri 'inaceptable', la GPDA planea conversaciones en Catar

      Hay algo que no está funcionando

      Carlos Sainz dice que la reciente ráfaga de sanciones controvertidas en la Fórmula 1 ha alcanzado un punto "crítico", y revela que la GPDA se reunirá con la FIA en Qatar el próximo fin de semana para abordar el asunto.

      Al llegar a Las Vegas, el español —director de la GPDA— dijo que la penalización de diez segundos impuesta a Oscar Piastri en Brasil será un tema clave.

      "Para mí, que a Oscar le pusieran una sanción en Brasil es inaceptable", dijo a los medios españoles. "Cualquiera que haya visto carreras sabe que no fue culpa de Oscar. Cualquiera que haya estado alguna vez en un coche de carreras sabe que no pudo hacer nada para evitar el accidente —y aun así recibió una penalización de diez segundos."

      Sainz dijo que la confusión se extiende mucho más allá de Interlagos.

      "No entendí mi sanción en Zandvoort, ni la de Bearman en Monza, ni la sanción que recibí en Austin. No ha sido solo una: ha habido varios incidentes este año que están muy lejos de lo que debería ser este deporte."

      El piloto de Williams argumentó que las directrices actuales se están aplicando con demasiada rigidez. "Tal como están escritas las reglas, siempre habrá alguien que tenga la culpa, incluso cuando claramente es un incidente de carrera", dijo.

      "Hay algo que no está funcionando."

      Sainz también destacó el trato de los comisarios ante los bloqueos de rueda. "Cada vez que hay un bloqueo, los comisarios lo interpretan como un piloto fuera de control, y ese no es el caso. Puedes bloquear y aun así tomar la curva.

      "Oscar reaccionó a una maniobra y bloqueó las ruedas, yo hice lo mismo en Austin. Eso tiene que revisarse."

      Recientemente ha dicho que una posible solución sería un panel permanente de comisarios. Sainz repite esa sugerencia en esta ocasión.

      "Si tuviéramos tres comisarios permanentes, con decisiones coherentes y experiencia compartida, nos entenderíamos mejor. Con buenos comisarios que conozcan bien las carreras, no necesitaríamos directrices tan en blanco y negro.

      "Hay una reunión en Qatar para solucionar esto", añadió. "Después de lo que pasó en Brasil, algo claramente no está funcionando."
