Williams is very proud of the team's historical heritage

Williams is a team with a very rich history and by the number of Constructors' Cups won, it ranks second, second only to Ferrari. Jim Barker - one of those responsible for the restoration of historical equipment, told the official site of the championship, how difficult it is. "I started working at Williams when I was 19 years old, and now I'm over 50, so more than half of my life I have devoted to these cars, - said Jim. - I was lucky, I had a very close relationship with Frank Williams, and he was an amazing man. And although he is no longer with us, and the team belongs to other people, but for me the atmosphere in Williams remains the same. For us, the famous historical cars - the most important asset of the company, we are very proud of them, and working with them inspires us ... It's very interesting because these machines are very complex, and the hardest part is working with small parts, bearings and oil seals that were made 20 or 30 years ago, and now you can't get them anywhere. So Chris Bron, chief engineer at Williams Heritage, and his team have to find ways to recreate those parts. All of them need incredible flexibility in their engineering thinking, because they face very difficult tasks, but the greater the joy when they manage to find a solution. Every time we work on another car, start it after a long break, it's always a special moment. Safety is an absolute priority and we work with Chris and his engineers to make sure that the structural integrity of the old machinery is intact so that it is safe for the driver, the spectators and everyone around. When we are preparing a car for an event like the Goodwood Festival of Speed, or when we are completing the maintenance and restoration of machinery that is in a private collection, we see the happy faces of the drivers coming back to the garage after the first test run and it is always inspiring. - Juan-Pablo is a great guy and the sound of the old V10 atmospheric engines evokes strong emotions. Certainly those cars with BMW engines were incredibly fast and powerful..."
