Gabriel Bortoleto: This is just the beginning!

On the first day of testing, the Sauber drivers have completed more than 110 laps – and they are looking forward to continuing. Nico Hulkenberg will work out in the morning session tomorrow, and Gabriel Bortoleto will replace him after lunch.…

Gabriel Bortoleto (12th): "My first official day with the C45 was interesting.  We focused on aerodynamics, testing different body kit options and gaining the distance covered. There were a few fresh sets of rubbers left by the evening, so I was able to attack and have some fun.

Overall, I am satisfied with the results of the day. There's always a lot to learn and improve, but this is just the beginning, and I'm looking forward to getting back behind the wheel tomorrow."

Niko Hulkenberg (18th): "A good, productive day. I'm glad we're finally back on the track. We started with the basic settings, working on the program planned for these tests.

In two sessions, we have collected a useful amount of data on the behavior of the machine – the team will process it at night. We need to learn as much as possible about the car in the next few days and make the most of the time on the track."
