Gasly: It's a shame not to score points in such a race

The Alpine team didn't score any points in Melbourne. Pierre Gasly finished only 11th, and Jack Duane dropped out of the race.…

Pierre Gasly (11th):"After such an intense race in difficult conditions, it's a shame to leave the track without scoring points. The rain race is always a lottery. We did a good job for most of the race, I was riding confidently in the top ten, but then the rain started again – some benefited from it by going straight to the pits, others, like us, decided to take a chance and spend a couple more laps on the track. Sometimes it happens.

Overall, I am satisfied with the competitiveness of our car. We have shown that we have a good pace, and I am looking forward to the weekend in China with confidence. We will focus on the positive aspects and move on."

Jack Duane (meeting): "The overall positive weekend ended badly. This was the result of a combination of factors that the team will analyze in order to achieve more next time.

Sometimes it's not easy to learn, but I've already realized what happened and put it behind me. The positive aspects of this weekend outweigh the unfortunate result.

The pace has been excellent throughout the weekend, and the team can approach each stage with confidence. Overall, everything went great. The fans were great, the atmosphere was incredible, and the opportunity to drive on the home track in the debut season is truly unique."
