Technical innovations presented in Bahrain

As at the previous stage in Japan, not all teams brought technical innovations to Bahrain, but it is quite common when several away races take place in a row at the beginning of the season.

The longest list of improvements was presented by the Ferrari team, which is also logical: its business is still not going well, and Maranello decided to speed up the modernization process of the car.

      McLaren

McLaren is confidently leading the Constructors' Cup, the MCL39 remains the fastest car in the championship, however, its refinement continues. The British team reported on a small change that affected, in Formula 1 terminology, the "front corner" of the car.

Small "wings" have appeared on the air ducts of the front brakes – changing the geometry of this important structural element of the chassis is aimed at improving airflow control, which has a positive effect on the overall aerodynamic efficiency of the chassis.

      Ferrari

There are five items in the list of changes presented by Scuderia, and the first four are related to the bottom of the SF-25. They are talking about the partitions of the Venturi tunnels, the body of the bottom, its edges and the diffuser – in the case of all these elements, the aerodynamics specialists of the Italian team have taken various steps to adjust the geometry.

For example, the following is said about the body of the bottom: "The shape of the front edge of the bottom has been revised and the tunnels have been expanded."

The team provides the following explanation: all these measures are not related to the specifics of the Bahrain highway, but in general they are aimed at reducing the loss of bottom efficiency.

Paragraph 5 refers to the rear wing area: the additional wing of the central wing strut has been upgraded: as in the case of the underbody, this improvement is not dictated by the characteristics of the Sakhir track and allows for a "slight improvement in the aerodynamic efficiency of the car."

      Red Bull Racing

On the RB21, the front wing has been upgraded: its adjustable element has become somewhat wider. This is done to increase the downforce generated by the wing, which in turn gives more freedom in the process of finding the optimal aerodynamic balance, taking into account the characteristics of the different versions of the rear wing available to the team.

      Haas F1

On the VF-25, the geometry of the engine casing has been changed, and specifically in its rear part, the hot air outlet has been expanded, which will increase the efficiency of the cooling system. It is clear that such measures are quite logical in conditions of heat.

The other six teams did not report any technical innovations.
