Penalty points after the Canadian Grand Prix
The FIA uses a system of penalty points for a super license to reduce the number of violations. Each violation is punishable by a certain number of penalty points, their total for 12 months should not exceed twelve, otherwise the rider will be disqualified for one race, which happened in 2024 with Kevin Magnussen. 12 months after the accrual, penalty points are burned out.
The next time the penalty points will be burned on June 29, they were obtained during last year's Austrian Grand Prix. We are talking about two points for Verstappen, Alonso and Hulkenberg, and if Max is not fined on Friday or Saturday, then after the weekend he will remain with 9 penalty points until October 28, when he will burn two more points.
After the Canadian Grand Prix, twelve drivers have unburned penalty points. The leader in their number is Max Verstappen.
