Haas F1 is burning rubber in Goodwood

Haas F1 at Goodwood features not an ordinary delegation, as the VF-23 and VF-24 cars are driven at the Festival of Speed not only by racers, but for the first time, Gene Haas, founder and owner of the American team, took the wheel of a Formula 1 car. He was joined by Ayo Komatsu, and we reported on this event. Of course, a necessary training program was prepared for Mr. Haas, so the 72-year-old businessman, owner of the globally renowned Haas Automation machine tool company, managed quite successfully. Here's what he said yesterday after completing his program: "Honestly, I didn't know much about the Festival of Speed before, but it piqued my interest, and now I understand why so many fans come here. The hardest part was trying to drive very slowly in this very fast car!" Ayo Komatsu, Haas F1 team principal, added: "Gene drove our car for the first time, and everything turned out brilliantly. We each took two runs, one in the morning and one in the afternoon. Gene really enjoyed it; he was constantly smiling – overall, it was just a fantastic day for all of us. It can be called historic, a day that will stay in memory forever. For the remaining days of the weekend, Oliver and Esteban will take over, and we are already looking forward – together with all the fans!" Today at Goodwood, Haas cars are indeed driven by Oliver Berman and Esteban Ocon, and of course, since they are true masters of their craft, their performances are sure to delight the crowd – in fact, the main team drivers are already busy smoking rubber on the famous Goodwood Hillspeed track.
