Four teams will participate in tyre tests in Hungary.

After the Hungarian Grand Prix, which will take place from August 1 to 3 at the Hungaroring, Formula 1 teams will go on their traditional summer break. However, four teams will stay in Hungary to participate in tire testing on August 5 and 6. Ferrari, Racing Points, and McLaren will work on the track for one day, while Alpine will conduct both days of testing. During these sessions, engineers will evaluate tire constructions for the next season. According to regulations, the construction must be homologated by September 1, and the homologation of compounds must be completed by December 15. Pirelli plans to hold three more two-day test sessions after the Hungary tests, during which teams will continue working with prototype tires for the next season. These tests are scheduled in Monza, Mugello, and Mexico City. At the Hungarian Grand Prix, the Italian tire manufacturer will bring the same compounds as last year—C3, C4, and C5. Last year, these were the softest three compounds, but in 2025, Pirelli introduced an even softer compound, C6. However, the tire manufacturer decided that this compound is too extreme for Hungaroring, considering the track’s configuration and the high asphalt temperatures, which reached a record +58.6°C last year. Normally, track conditions in Hungary improve significantly over the weekend, especially during the first two days. Tire graining appears during practice sessions but gradually decreases as the track becomes covered with a layer of used rubber. High thermal degradation of tires is a factor drivers must consider during qualifying on the Soft compound. If tire conditions are not carefully monitored during the lap, problems may arise in the last two corners.
