It's hard to say to what extent Cadillac's Formula 1 project affects the fighting spirit of the Cadillac factory team in the World Endurance Championship, but the fact is that its crews occupied the entire front row ahead of the "6 Hours of Fuji."

Pole was taken by Alex Lynn, driver of car No. 12, and the second crew (No. 38), which includes Jenson Button among its drivers, posted the second-fastest time at the Japanese Fuji Speedway thanks to the efforts of Earl Bamber.

For the trio of Lynn, Norman Nato and Will Stevens this is already their third such achievement in the 2025 season.

Notably, third place went to Marco Sorensen, driver of crew No. 009 for the Aston Martin team, competing in the Valkyrie hypercar with a naturally aspirated 6.5-litre V12 engine. These cars usually lose out in speed to prototype sports cars with hybrid powertrains, but this time the Dane trailed the pole-sitters by very little.

Also making the second row was Mikkel Jensen, Sorensen's compatriot, driving the Peugeot 9X8 hypercar, which also indicates the gradual progress of the French manufacturer's factory team.

The best of the Ferrari drivers was Antonio Giovinazzi, who posted the sixth-fastest time in the No. 51 hypercar. It is worth noting that only Cadillac and Ferrari managed to get both cars into the final stage of qualifying, the so-called "Hyperpole." Overall the results were very tight: the first 12 cars are separated by less than half a second.

In the LMGT3 category Eduardo Barrichello stood out: the young Brazilian drives an Aston Martin Vantage for the Racing Spirit of Le Mans team, and today he took pole in this class for the second time this season. Rubens Barrichello, the former Formula 1 driver, watched his son at work from the French team's pits and, of course, was genuinely pleased for him.

The "6 Hours of Fuji" is the penultimate round on the WEC calendar, and the season finale will take place on November 8 in Bahrain.
