Zak Brown: Oscar and Lando have been performing brilliantly all season.
Following the Singapore Grand Prix, where McLaren drivers finished third and fourth, the British team won the Constructors' Championship for the second consecutive time, but this year did so not at the season finale but with six races to go.
Although there was an incident between Lando Norris and Oscar Piastri that could have been costly for both, it did not spoil today's celebrations for McLaren management.
Zak Brown, Chief Executive Officer of McLaren Racing: "Oscar and Lando have been performing brilliantly all season. You cannot win the Constructors' Championship without two great drivers.
As you can see, we let them race. Today we had to be quite nervous, but they race hard yet fairly, and both are focused on winning. There are still plenty of races ahead, and I hope both will take many more victories.
After this weekend we'll analyse everything, as we do after every Grand Prix. It looks like there was also contact between Max Verstappen's and Lando's cars at the first corner — in any case, that needs to be checked — but it was very interesting to watch what happened in the opening corners.
Overall, it's an example of hard racing on track, but when three or four cars are running in a very tight group, incidents like that are possible."
Andrea Stella, Team Principal: "Both drivers have the right to race and pursue their goals. We intend to keep this approach. With each race we learn something new, each one teaches us something, and we make small adjustments to our approaches, but it's only a matter of nuances.
We will now continue to fight to win the title, and although we have already won the Constructors' Championship, this will not affect our approach."
