      "I truly couldn’t believe it."

Formula E’s innovative Gen4 car is already catching the attention of the Formula 1 community, including Max Verstappen. The Dutch driver, who had previously ridiculed F1’s new regulations as "Formula E on steroids," has now reportedly referred to the next-generation electric vehicle as "cool" in private. The Gen4 car was unveiled publicly this week at Circuit Paul Ricard, showcasing performance metrics that indicate a substantial advancement. It can exceed 335kph, reach 0-100kph in approximately 1.8 seconds, and 0-200kph in 4.4 seconds, all while delivering up to 600kW in attack mode. During demonstration runs, former F1 test driver James Rossiter noted the significant improvement from the current generation. "No, I truly couldn’t believe it," he stated. "The increase is simply massive. The speed is astonishing, with acceleration over 320kph before you hit the brakes. At the end of the straight, you’re matching the speed of an F1 car. The acceleration from 600 kW and all-wheel drive feels comparable to what the V10 experienced in F1 in 2004 and 2005 from a driver’s angle." He continued, "The strange part is, the acceleration never ceases. You press the accelerator and immediately get exactly what you desire. There’s no delay, not even a millisecond. Just all the power right away." Rossiter also compared the car to the intricate nature of Formula 1’s new regulations. "To be completely honest, I find the new rules quite convoluted," he mentioned. "It's challenging for fans to grasp. If they can comprehend what’s happening in Formula 1, they’re sure to fall in love with Formula E for its elegant simplicity." The new vehicle is anticipated to outpace its predecessor by a considerable margin, potentially nearing Formula 2 speeds.
