Nico Hülkenberg: The result reflects our level
In Miami, the Audi F1 drivers did not make it to the final qualifying for the sprint, but they showed 11th and 12th results and comment on these outcomes somewhat differently.
Nico Hülkenberg (12th): "To be honest, I didn't know what to expect before the weekend started, but I think our position hasn't changed much compared to what it was a few weeks ago.
I think the qualifying went more or less okay, although it can't be called perfect, but overall we got almost everything out of the car that it was capable of, and the result reflects the level we are at.
But I think we can definitely aim for better results in both races of the weekend, as the car is capable of a good race pace. And we usually handle tire degradation quite well. At the same time, we need to consider that this is the first weekend where the races are taking place in hot weather, although it is still unclear what awaits us on Sunday."
Gabriel Bortoleto (11th): "Of course, I am a bit disappointed that we couldn't make it to the final, although we were close. I had a decent lap, although there were moments where I could have done better. However, everyone is in the same conditions, and theoretically, everyone could have improved in certain sections of the lap. Overall, it's a shame that it turned out this way, as I was confident that we would make it to the final, but we needed to perform perfectly for that.
However, there is also a reason to be happy, as we had big problems during practice, and I spent almost half an hour in the garage. Time was passing, and the car was not quite properly set up. So I'm glad that before today's qualifying we were able to make progress and ultimately did quite well, and the car is clearly working better than in previous rounds."
