Juncadella claims that the FIA is practicing 'double standards' regarding Hamilton.
"Dani Juncadella believes Lewis Hamilton should have faced consequences for giving Franco Colapinto the middle finger during the Miami GP. The Spaniard, who works as an Aston Martin simulator driver and is a close associate of Max Verstappen, criticized the FIA for its inconsistency after Hamilton's gesture went without punishment.
"The FIA’s double standard is always evident," Juncadella stated on X. "Fine him 2,000 euros like they did to me." Juncadella, 35, referred to his own penalty during last November’s Bahrain WEC round, when he was fined for making an obscene gesture during a GT3 race – an event that attracted criticism due to the FIA's intensified focus on driver conduct and language.
This issue is particularly pertinent for Verstappen, who received significant sanctions from the FIA for swearing. Meanwhile, Juncadella will team up with Verstappen at the upcoming Nurburgring 24 Hours, driving a Mercedes-AMG GT3. Joining them will be Jules Gounon, son of former Formula 1 driver Jean-Marc Gounon, and Lucas Auer, nephew of Ferrari icon Gerhard Berger."
