Verstappen: The sound of the engine was truly eerie.
Max Verstappen had to watch most of the Monaco Grand Prix from the Red Bull Racing pits – the engine in his car started failing even before the start.
"Everything was not going well already on the warm-up lap," Max commented on Sky Sports. "After that, terrible things happened before the start, the engine was running unstable, and then it just died.
In a way, power returned after the first corner, but even then the sound of the engine was truly eerie. I couldn't give full throttle, so we decided to return to the pits, that's all.
Next weekend, there will be a race in Barcelona, which is a completely different type of track, so we'll see if we can take the next step forward, especially since effective aerodynamics at high speeds will be the most important there. I hope we have an interesting weekend ahead..."
