Bortoleto: In Austria, we will be able to handle the matter better.
Gabriel Bortoleto, speaking about the expectations related to the Austrian Grand Prix, hopes that at the Red Bull Ring he and the Audi team will perform better than in the previous stages of the season.
Gabriel Bortoleto: "Austria has a good track, and I have good memories associated with it, as it is where I earned my first points in Formula 1. Additionally, I won my first F2 race at the Red Bull Ring, and now as an Audi driver, I believe that this upcoming weekend we will be able to handle things better, and in the future, I will be pleased to remember this as well.
In two consecutive races, we finished just behind the top ten, being only one position away from it, so our task now is to optimize everything. We were unable to do this in the previous stages, primarily due to poor starts – it was because of this that I lost several positions in Barcelona, and then I had to recover, which took a lot of time.
In Barcelona, we received a slightly upgraded engine, but it affected handling more than speed. Of course, handling also impacts results, but we did not see a significant increase in our speed on the straights, for example.
However, the technical upgrades help address the issues we have been complaining about since the beginning of the year. We openly discuss this when communicating with the press. I believe we have achieved some improvements, and that is a positive aspect, including mentioning the ADUO program."
