Oscar Piastri: We are one step behind Kimi Antonelli.

Oscar Piastri showed the second fastest time in Friday's practice in Austria, with his teammate, Lando Norris, trailing him by just 0.088 seconds. However, Kimi Antonelli is noticeably ahead of the McLaren drivers, and Piastri is unsure if they can make up such a deficit.

Oscar Piastri (2nd): "The day went quite well, although we are a step behind Mercedes, at least behind Kimi Antonelli. However, we expected this and worked quite productively on our program, trying out several different approaches to setup, including taking into account a number of lessons learned from the race in Barcelona. So in that regard, everything is good.

We'll see how things develop further, especially since Kimi set a very impressive lap time on soft tires, so it's unlikely we'll come up with anything to catch up to him before tomorrow. There’s definitely a lot we can learn from each other..."

Lando Norris (3rd): "We had a problem in the first session, and we found ourselves in an unfavorable position, but once it was resolved, we started to improve. In terms of pace, everything is more or less okay, and we managed to get a bit closer to the leaders.

As we've seen in previous years, this track suits us, and we are working from that assumption, so the priority is to gain more confidence behind the wheel. If we can achieve that, I believe we can take another step forward.

There's plenty of work to do, but we see encouraging signs and will continue to put in every effort to elevate our performance before tomorrow's qualifying."
