Carlos Sainz: I hope this is a temporary decline.

In the qualifying session in Austria, the Williams drivers were eliminated from contention in the first session...

Carlos Sainz (17th): "The weekend is not going well, but I am very happy with my last lap – I was just a little short of making it into the second part of qualifying. Unfortunately, the car lacked speed. We didn't have enough grip, our car is too heavy, and the hot weather made everything even more complicated. Many teams brought upgrades this weekend, while we have gone backwards. I hope this is a temporary dip, and we can improve in Silverstone. The race will be tough, reliability could play a role – we will do everything we can and try to take any opportunity to recover."

Alex Albon (18th): "A disappointing Saturday, but today we couldn't do more. Throughout the weekend, we made adjustments and progressed, but unfortunately, we just don't have the necessary pace. In corners 1-4, we can compete with the midfield teams, but in the fast corners, the gap is too obvious – we saw something similar in Barcelona. In the third practice, we focused on long runs and race pace rather than a quick lap, but we expected more from this weekend. I think the heat highlighted our weaknesses even more. I hope we can gain a few positions in the race, as there are overtaking opportunities on this track – we will try to take advantage of them."
