Lawson: A tough race ahead due to the hot weather
In Austria, Racing Bulls drivers Liam Lawson and Arvid Lindblad made it to the qualifying final for the second time this season with both cars. The team is pleased with the result and hopes to earn points with both cars in the Sunday race.
Liam Lawson (9th): "So far, the weekend has been going very well – we made it to the qualifying final with both cars. The car has been fast in all sessions, and I am very satisfied with the work done on the track and at the base.
Several teams brought updates for this round, so we knew we would face tough competition. The gaps are minimal, but we managed to be at the front of the midfield.
Tomorrow will be a challenging race, as hotter weather is expected. However, the tire load is likely to be not as high as in Barcelona, but degradation will still be an important factor, considering how the car slides in the corners. In the evening, we will see what can be done to be in better shape and hopefully earn points."
Arvid Lindblad (10th): "A successful Saturday. The team did a great job and once again provided us with a fast and competitive car. It's nice to see both cars in the final – great job by the team.
Overall, my fast lap wasn't too bad. If I had done everything perfectly, I could have gone one and a half tenths faster, but considering how we started the weekend, I have a decent starting position.
I am confidently looking forward to the race. We are all expecting higher temperatures, so tire degradation will play an important role in the race, but I hope that the degradation won't be as severe as in Barcelona."
