Carlos Sainz: We made a small step forward.

With the help of the new updates prepared by the team, the Williams drivers made it to the second part of the qualifying for the sprint in Silverstone, but they couldn't achieve more...

James Vowles, team principal: "It's nice to see that the updates have allowed us to take a step forward, but there is still a long way to go. Our closest competitors are also making progress, and we need to get ahead of them in this work to overtake them on track. The car's balance and stability in corners have improved, but it's still unclear why we are losing so much time on the straights. We need to figure this out, as it will open the door to the next level of results for us. We have a few ideas that we want to try."

Carlos Sainz (15th): "This weekend we made a small step forward thanks to the new front wing — it seems to have worked and helped us outqualify both Haas cars. Unfortunately, we are still behind the pace of the top ten, but the work continues. Today I drove one of my best laps of the season – everything came together as it should. I'm using it as a benchmark for the rest of the weekend."

Alex Albon (16th): "On the last fast lap in the second session, there were some issues with the car, but we wouldn't have achieved more anyway. With the new front wing, we made a step forward, and this progress allowed us to outpace the Haas F1 drivers today. I hope we can achieve more in tomorrow's sprint. The issues with setting the car to the right range remain, as do all our weaknesses, but we are making small steps in the right direction."
