Audi hopes to compete for points in the race.
Gabriel Bortoleto was close to making it to the final qualifying round in Silverstone, but he fell short by 0.032 seconds to Liam Lawson, who set the tenth fastest time. His Audi teammate Nico Hülkenberg set the thirteenth fastest time, but due to Pierre Gasly's penalty, he will start twelfth.
Gabriel Bortoleto (11th): "First of all, I want to thank the team for their hard work. At the very beginning of the first session, I had gearbox issues on my car, but the team managed to fix it and gave me the chance to get back on track, complete a lap, and move on.
In the second session, I made a mistake in the sixth corner and lost time – that was it for me. I think I could have made it to the final today, but I'm still satisfied with the final position.
The sprint was eventful. I had issues at the start, so I need to work on that aspect.
Now all attention is on the race on Sunday. I hope we can put all the pieces together and fight in the top ten."
Nico Hülkenberg (13th): "This is not the qualifying I was hoping for, as I believe we had the potential to achieve more than thirteenth place. I couldn't put together clean laps in the second session, and during the final attempt, the car in front turned into the pits, and I lost the slipstream on the straight.
There will be another opportunity on Sunday, and if we can run a clean race, there will be chances to move up."
