For Enzo Ferrari, racing was a pursuit of perfection.

      Enzo Ferrari, a legendary figure, passed away on August 14, 1988, at the age of 90, and in Italy, his legacy has always been treated with great respect and reverence. Today, on the anniversary of the great Commendatore's death, the press service of the company from Maranello presented a documentary titled "What Kind of Man Was Enzo Ferrari?" with the subtitle "Enzo Ferrari on Himself," based on old interviews where he discusses the foundations of Ferrari's success. At the very beginning of the film, a voiceover states: "For Enzo Ferrari, racing never meant just speed. It was a pursuit of perfection, a constant search for ways to improve, and each new challenge created an opportunity to learn something." At the same time, Ferrari acknowledged that although he lacked formal technical education, he invited talented engineers and designers to his company, and he managed to get the most out of them. "I didn't have the opportunity to continue my studies; I stopped at what was then considered 'the third technical level,'" he said in one interview. "Today, this corresponds to mandatory secondary education. But throughout my life, I always surrounded myself with highly educated and capable people, and even more importantly, what distinguished them all was their desire to succeed. The first quality, the main trait that I tried to discover in people before hiring them was a love for cars. And I considered it my task to create problems, to initiate heated discussions, and by listening to the different opinions of my associates, I relied on the modest quality I always possessed: I summarized all the information, drew conclusions from it, and based on that, made decisions." As we know from history, this approach proved to be correct – it must be said, including for this reason, Ferrari remains the most successful Formula 1 team to this day, with 16 Constructors' Cups and 250 Grand Prix victories to its name. But if we add to this statistic the successes in endurance racing, it becomes even more impressive. As a result of last year, it was Ferrari that won the WEC in both classifications of this championship, so the successors of the Commendatore's work have much to be proud of today.
