Lamborghini Revuelto SV Makes Its Debut Featuring 1,050 HP and a Special Fun Mode

      Lamborghini’s SV badge, which stands for Super Veloce, meaning “super fast” in Italian, has now entered its electrified phase. Welcome to the future.

      On Friday, just ahead of Monterey Car Week at Pebble Beach, the Lamborghini Revuelto SV was unveiled, featuring more power, higher-voltage energy, enhanced aerodynamics, and a new GT3-inspired driving mode. Yes, it comes with a wing, but chances are you can’t buy one since only 1,963 units will be produced—a nod to the year Lamborghini was established—and it’s unlikely you’ve already placed an order.

      The Revuelto leads Lamborghini’s current lineup with its plug-in hybrid V12 powertrain. The SV variant boosts the “base” model's powertrain by enhancing both power and energy. The overall system output rises by 50 horsepower, bringing it to 1,050 hp, while system torque increases by 18 lb-ft, reaching an impressive 1,051 lb-ft. However, this power boost does not come from the gasoline-powered 6.5-liter V12 engine; it originates from the high-voltage battery of the plug-in hybrid system, which effectively doubles its output by adding 3.8 kWh for a total of 7.3 kWh. The battery's physical size remains the same but is now more energy-dense. This additional power increases the electric motor's output by 190 kW, allowing for four laps' worth of electric power at Hockenheimring.

      This added power reduces the 0-60 mph time by 0.1 seconds, enabling the SV to complete the sprint in just 2.4 seconds. Lamborghini claims the Revuelto SV can reach a top speed exceeding 214 mph, though no exact figure has been disclosed.

      However, the “super fast” Lamborghini is not merely a numbers car, despite its impressive horsepower. SV models focus on handling and dynamic improvements that enhance the driving experience. To achieve this, Lamborghini has introduced “racing-inspired” adjustable passive dampers, a new set of cutting-edge carbon ceramic brakes, all paired with model-specific Bridgestone Potenza Race R tires. These upgrades result in 23% better heat dissipation, a 12% reduction in brake disc temperatures, 10% more lateral grip from the dampers alone, and a 13% increase in overall grip with 5% improved traction at full throttle compared to the standard Revuelto.

      Lamborghini President and CEO Stephan Winkelmann stated, “With the Revuelto SV, we’re further enhancing the already high-performance and razor-sharp Revuelto, providing drivers an even more intense driving experience. The Revuelto SV represents exclusivity, technical perfection, and pure driving pleasure, making it a true driving machine and the essence of our Lamborghini DNA.”

      Nevertheless, the new Pilota driving mode is what drivers should pay special attention to. Lamborghini mentioned this mode was created for “genuine fun to drive” characteristics. Pilota will adjust the ABS, traction control, and stability control systems, claiming to deliver shorter braking distances, improved corner braking, better balance and sharpness, and enhanced performance over curbs and jumps. Pilota mode can be activated through a new dedicated rotary knob on the steering wheel and unlocks a five-stage traction control system derived from Lamborghini’s GT3 race car.

      Like other modern SV models, the Revuelto SV sharpens the original car's design. The wedge-shaped car’s angles and creases are further extended, sharper, and more defined, highlighted with red paint, and topped with a fixed rear wing. The staggered wheel sizes feature 20-inch fronts and 21-inch rears, with an optional center lock design.

      Inside, lightweight carbon fiber door panels and racing seats will be included. Standard sport seats feature carbon shells, while monocoque carbon fiber race seats will be among an extensive list of options.

      Lamborghini has not revealed pricing, but if you need to ask—or if you haven’t already placed an order—you’re likely not getting one.
