Hulkenberg: It looks like we took a step forward this weekend.

In Miami, only Nico Hulkenberg of the Sauber drivers managed to reach the finish line, but he was outside the top ten. His teammate, Gabriel Bortoleto, retired on lap 31 due to technical problems with the fuel system.

Nico Hulkenberg (14th): "Today's race was uneventful, and I think it's one of the most successful this year. I managed to avoid trouble in the first corner when Lawson and Duane collided, after which I tried to achieve a normal race pace.

In contrast to most of my rivals, I had a different tactic today: I started on hard tires in order to complete the long first leg of the race. When the virtual safety car mode was first announced, we did not make a pit stop, and this decision will still need to be analyzed together with the team.

Nevertheless, it looks like we've taken a step forward this weekend. If we can add a little more and improve the balance of the car, then we can already increase our chances of earning points. As we prepare for the European part of the season, we will try to achieve these improvements."

Gabriel Bortoleto (gathering): "Until the moment of the descent, we were driving at a normal pace. We were confidently holding onto the 13th position, driving close behind the Window, but the lights were going out in front, and I felt that we would be able to maintain this position until the finish.

The pace was in line with our expectations – we were a little behind Haas and Racing Bulls, but we were still able to participate in the fight. Unfortunately, the engine started to lose power on the straights, then the revs dropped very noticeably twice in the corners, and as a result, the car just stalled.

As I was told, it looks like our fuel system has failed, but I haven't had time to analyze it with the team yet. It's a pity that it happened, especially since there weren't many gatherings in the course of my career, but it's also part of the game.

Still, there were some positive things about the weekend: good speed on one fast lap, as well as the pace we were capable of before the race. We need to try to develop all this, and we will analyze in detail everything that happened during the weekend in Miami, draw the necessary conclusions and with renewed vigor we will go to the start of the next stage."
