Verstappen hinted that he is interested in Ford's WEC project.

Max Verstappen has said more than once that at the next stage of his career he would like to race in endurance events, including the 24-hour marathons at Le Mans and Daytona.

Ford already cooperates with Red Bull in engine development, and next year the Milton Keynes team's cars will carry power units produced in-house, created with technological support from the American corporation. But in 2027 the American company plans to return to the top tier of the WEC.

Max Verstappen indicated that he is attracted by the prospects that the partnership with Ford could open up, especially since it is not yet entirely clear how interesting it will be to drive the next-generation Formula 1 cars.

"Personally, I don't think it will be very exciting, although, on the other hand, my attitude is: 'time will tell,'" the four-time world champion said while taking part in a Ford Performance video, the American company's racing division. "To be honest, I don't rule out that it will be fun.

"Of course, it's great that Ford is now working with us, and we'll see how our partnership develops. They already have a lot of racing projects, and of course they're coming back to Le Mans with their hypercar. Naturally, I'm interested in that. I like the GT3 category, I want to race on the Nürburgring Nordschleife and in the 24 Hours of Spa, but perhaps I'd like to try my hand in another, the fastest category.

"I really want to compete in all the major endurance races. I simply adapt to the machinery I'm given. These are not the cars I like, but the ones I'm provided with. I try to drive exactly as the specific car requires, because that's the only way to get around the track as quickly as possible.

"I'm not doing it to show everyone what I'm capable of. I just strive to become the best. Perhaps in that respect you could call me a perfectionist—I never think I've done the job well enough. After getting out of the car, I can tell myself that I did more or less okay..."
