Pierre Gasly: The drivers' cooling system is working

On Friday the Alpine drivers traditionally found themselves behind, but still hope to improve on Saturday…

Pierre Gasly (16th): "The Singapore round is always a unique challenge. For us it's doubly difficult because the circuit is very bumpy, and in those conditions we usually have more problems. It was a tense day; we were able to try many things to understand what the car needs. The gap to the leaders is still large, but we are focused on ourselves and are looking for opportunities to improve the situation. There are a few corners here where we can gain tomorrow. I feel comfortable in the car, but unfortunately it lacks speed. Today we tested the driver cooling system. I have no thoughts or sensations about it, which means everything worked properly."

Franco Colapinto (19th): "Productive day. We were able to try a lot. That's what Fridays are for — we gathered a lot of useful data that we'll need to analyze this evening to better prepare for qualifying. We managed to complete many laps and carry out most of the program despite the red flags. At the end of the session the car improved, but I hit the wall at Turn 17 and didn't improve my time. We have work to do overnight and in the third practice to make the most of the car's potential."
