When it comes to traversing Siberia, a massive ATV seems to be the ideal solution. A few years ago, we discovered the Sokol, touted as the world's largest ATV. However, another firm named Siberian All-Terrain Vehicles is competing strongly against the Sokol.
The company provides several models starting at the equivalent of $22,216 (based on current exchange rates), all featuring truck-like dimensions but still controlled with handlebars like traditional ATVs. They utilize various engines sourced from Honda and Toyota, allowing for a towing capacity of up to 1,763 pounds, with most models equipped with Honda automatic transmissions and Mitsubishi Pajero differentials and steering systems. Additionally, tires as large as 57 inches are available.

The aptly named Big Profi, starting at around $40,448, measures 165.3 inches in length, 96.4 inches in width, and 76.7 inches in height. This makes it approximately 51 inches longer, 17 inches wider, and 9 inches taller than the roughly $17,000 Sokol. It has a weight of 3,306 pounds, powered by a Honda K24A 2.4-liter inline-four engine producing 200 horsepower and 168 pound-feet of torque—an engine typically found in an Accord in the U.S. market.
The frames and various components of these ATVs are manufactured by the company, while the engines, transmissions, and driveline parts are sourced from used vehicles. If the largest model isn’t what you’re looking for, there’s also a Profi Mini, measuring 145.2 inches long, which is still quite large by ATV standards. Versions designed as pickups and buggies are also offered.

Large ATVs are a specialty of Russia. Alongside the Sokol and Siberian All-Terrain Vehicles’ lineup, companies such as Phantom, Rosomaha, and Set also provide their own alternatives. These vehicles are certainly designed for the expansive Russian landscape, which necessitates a tough ATV for navigation. It’s important to note why Russians don’t simply opt for trucks, considering that the choices available aren’t very appealing.
Sanctions related to Russia's invasion of Ukraine have severely constrained the country's auto industry, impacting imports as well. The situation has become so dire that production of the Cold War-era Lada Niva resumed in 2022.
