Ford is pleased with the collaboration with Red Bull.
In Canada, Max Verstappen climbed onto the podium for the first time this season, thus bringing the first podium for Ford powertrains since their return to Formula 1. Ford Performance Motorsport director Mark Rushbrook is pleased with how the collaboration with Red Bull is developing.
Mark Rushbrook: "Max's podium was the first for Red Bull Ford Powertrains, and it is truly a landmark moment for our partnership. It’s nice to see the tremendous work everyone has done in preparation for the 2026 season. This result is a well-deserved confirmation of the efforts from both Red Bull Racing and Ford Racing.
We are currently satisfied with our position. Red Bull Racing and Red Bull Powertrains are excellent partners, and that’s what we understood three and a half years ago when we signed the contract.
The collaboration on a completely new power unit in Milton Keynes has been incredible, and I am very proud that this engine is in the cars of Red Bull Racing and Racing Bulls. This is truly a point of pride for Ford Motor Company, Ford Racing, and all our employees.
We are very pleased with the collaboration with Ben Hodgkinson, who leads the engine division, as well as with Laurent Mekies and his work with the racing team. We are satisfied with everything that is happening in this project right now.
Of course, the goal is to fight for wins and titles. We would like to be in higher positions in the pack, but at this stage, we are content to be in the leading group, considering the potential that the team from Milton Keynes has.
In 2025, the team already showed what it is capable of, managing to get back into the title fight. Both at the base and beyond, everyone continues to work hard to improve further. This is the kind of approach we expected from our partners – complete dedication and a desire to do everything possible to reach the top.
Undoubtedly, we have had problems, and that is obvious. But we are determined to solve them and continue to improve efficiency."
